Architecture has taken a massive influence in my life. Having travelled and lived in so many places, I have instinctively gained a knowledge of the built world and grown to appreciate it enough to create my own. In 2011, I started my extended degree in architecture and interior design and successfully progressed into the first year. Having proven that I have the skills to continue this course has only fed my desire to have a career in architecture. My definition of architecture however is far from complete as one would expect in thier first year. The process of design has always interested me and the idea of a sketch turning into a physical object has to be the biggest satisfaction. I hope to gain, not only knowledge, but experience too, as I meet new people and discover new concepts and ideas. Ideas that interest me the most are sustainability, low-cost solutions, geometric forms as well as organic and the merging of themes such as old with contemporary. I expect these interests to evolve throughout the duration of my course and adapt as I believe a concise undertsanding in architecture will provide me with the tools to define my own architecture.
